The end of the world

LAST NIGHT oct 2 2013
Colour, vivid, epic, nightmare
I dreamed that I was walking through this university's music room.   The floor was staircase-amphitheatre style, and there were students sitting at each level.  I believe Jessica was in my dream, and we talked about Haley, and then I hugged her, proclaiming how happy I was we were getting more friends in common.
When I went to the back of the room, I realised it was sunset.  I was super excited to take a photo for my scavenger hunt.  So I snapped a few with my phone and grabbed Valerian, my biggest doll, and went outside.  I was posing him in several ways (note: he had odd eyebrows in my dream.  Too deep set and with real hair sticking out) , trying to get the right lighting, and then this little boy came out with me.   He was suplosed to be the child of the family I stayed with for residence (not true) and he kept bugging me.  I kept speaking to him to be patient,  quiet etc.  The sky was a beautiful mélange of purples, pinks, blues,  yellows and oranges.  It was going to rain, I could tell because of the clouds, and so I wanted to snap a few pictures and leave.  The light was progressively shifting quite rapidly,  and I was frustrated with the kid, who kept badgering me.
Suddenly, the clouds about two kilometers away swirled into a cone.
The sky went extremely dark purple and I saw a flash before hearing thunder down the street.  It was extremely loud and the boy jumped out of fear.  From the cone a monster like a white and creamsicle orange-tiger striped, sinewy monster dropped from the sky, and I almost froze. I was snapping pictures still and I  saw a flashing spark beside his feet before lightning came down.
We were thrown back, but I scrambled to my feet and ushered him inside.  I ran with the kid in my arms (now that I think about it he looked a lot like Morgan) and I told him to go find his parents.  I grabbed my shoes, boots and running shoes, and wanted to join him but I saw a photographer outside, crawling through the debris of our yard.
Behind him I saw a diminutive form of the monster, having crawled its way here.  I opened the glass porch just a bit to tell the crazy man to come inside,  but he didn't.  He looked at me and I motioned for him to be QUIET, then pointed at the monster just behind him.  I then went inside, mind racing as to what necessities I could pack to survive and mentally ticking off what wasn't important.
The house was all lit, a rather nice and expensive house like auntie Doris', but it was dead silent.  I charged to the front dooor where I saw the father revving the engines to a white mini schoolbus filled with kids.   I screamed at him to wait for me just for five minutes, and he nodded.
I bolted upstairs and began to stuff my bag full of necessary clothes.  Two bras, socks, underwear, two pants, shirts, a sweater, and my heavy coat.  I also wanted to bring more pencil lead and my small sketchbooks, leaving behind everything else. My heart was pounding as I packed.
Then the dream ended.  I woke up.  Yikes.
